Wellington Medi Spa

Tonight I had an hour massage at Wellington Medi Spa on the Terrace, and I think it was the worst customer service I have ever had.

My appointment was at 5pm and as soon as I arrived, I was greeted by a large man, slothed over one of the two chairs in the foyer, talking very loudly on a cell phone. I could only assume he was a relative of the owners, or the owner himself (I later found out he was the owner). Once I checked in for my appointment and had taken a seat, I was told I had been double booked. Great. It would be 30 minutes before I would be seen to. I went to get a coffee.

When I got back, it was 5.45. I was told that it would be 6.15 before I was seen due to "technical issues". Or I could re-book for Friday and get an extra 15 minutes. I decided to wait, because at this stage, I was so wound up, I needed that massage. Thank God for smartphones huh?

The staff (owners - family business from what I gather) were talking very loud at the counter, which I feel is really unprofessional and very un-relaxing for a day spa. There was audible displeasure from other staff about working there, and visual displeasure from other clients about the wait.

In the end, the massage was amazing, but I would never return.

[Editors note: We are always reluctant to post negative reviews but our reviewers experience at Wellington Medi Spa was pretty appalling, so much so that it overshadowed the treatment itself, despite the treatment being "amazing".]

  1. I had a similar experience there except the massage was also horrible. I was scared that I was actually going to be injured. I was given a voucher for 2 treatments but did not return after the first horrible experience!!

  2. Got a wax there last weekend.. Never again! They are so so rude and abrupt. Also they do not check make sure you're in any comfort at all

  3. I also had an awful experience here. I had a wax and left feeling a bit traumatised. I felt uncomfortable and was asked inappropriate questions. Despite having shown her how much I wanted waxed, I left the salon very unhappy with what was left. Awful.

  4. I bought a deal on Dailydo..booked my apt for 4pm Sat 23 March. I arrived to be told they had no record of my booking and that they never do pedicures at 136 The Terrace. Well I had the daily do voucher with me and the address was clearly written 136 The Terrace. The said I could re book for Monday..I live in Kapiti and work..they said I could not book it for April because the voucher would have expired by then. Possibly the same ugly slothful man became involved in the discussion and I left in disgust. So they made money for nothing..is that the way they make money. I suppose they could always say something must have beede lost in translation. Never ever go there please disgusting service.ah and the receptionist had jeans on

  5. I too have had massages at Medi Spa and experienced that huge man at the reception desk berating his staff for filing my booking under the wrong date. It was so embarrassing. They made me wait 20 minutes while the huge man stared at me. Then they seemed to have trouble finding someone to perform my massage. A young girl in cleaning gear including holding a bucket came in and the huge man told her to take me to a room. We went to a storage kind of area and in a semi-closet with a massage table in it i had a massage with ...the cleaning girl. It was the absolute worst and she did not know how to do much other than rub my back. I will never go back and went instead to Asiana day spa where when i arrived for my massage i was greeted by...the same huge man who was berating the receptionist for not adding up correctly. How many places does this rude man own?

  7. Oh surprise surprise, this Medi Spa and Asiana Day spa are owned by the above mentioned man. Both places are appallingly dirty, I had to ask for my towels to be replaved at Asiana when having IPL, they were filthy, the girl said the owner tries to get them to save on laundry so they just turn them over....urghhhhh when I am having IPL on my 'bits' this is NOT what I want to hear. The treatment was so painful I missed the last 2, and when I saw a chance to have it elsewhere I did another Daily Do, only to dicover it was the same owner, only this time the treatment was a lot less painful as the girl 'trimmed' me before the treatment other wise you singe the hair which then burns your skin, soemthing the girl at Asiana didn't do. I would never go back to either and the fact they are constanly on Daily Do and other Voucher sites is testimony to the facy they cannot and have not built up a good and reliable client base. I reported them to Health and Safety re cleanliness and apparently Beauty Salons aren't regulated, only food establishments and hairdressing salons.....weird,

  8. Thanks to these reviews I have saved myself not onlg money but pain in going to Asiana if it is in fact owned by the same owner. I went to Wellington Medi Spa before it changed its name from Evergreens- what w horrible experience! And to call themselves a spa is outrageous. Better to pay more and experience a real spa treatment than a very poorly managed and maintained placed. When I went here there was no heating and like the other person said, was put in a back room that didn't ferl relaxing at all. The lady owner it seemed was the one who massaged me and she is atrocious as she doesn't know how to and was just pinching and squeezing. Save yourself the trouble. TRUST ME YOU ARE NOT SAVING ANYTHING ON VOUCHERS WITH THESE PLACES!

  10. I booked in for a foot reflexology - they never once touched my toes or the front of my feet and she spent about 10 seconds on the back of my feet - it was all about the back of the legs - they have no idea what they are doing. Definately not trained - so how can they be allowed to practice? I had paid for a 90 min treat and was asked to leave after 20 mins as, apparently, they had me booked in for 2 weeks earlier as well - I didn't know that! I asked the large man at reception why he didnt call me to confirm this so called appointment - or even call me when I didnt turn up - but he couldn't answer. Just said I needed to pay more money to get the treatment done. So dodgy. How can you argue with someone when you are naked under a towel and they are standing beside you yelling at you that you wasted their time!! I missed two of my treatments and the one I did have was not reflexology. What a sad reflection on the Spa industry in Wellington. And why do they advertise as Evergreens on the same door? Two company names and one site??? Suspicious. I feel sorry for the staff actually doing the work. The reception guy is very creepy. 'Sloth' is the perfect word. I am guessing they have very little repeat custom.

  11. Thanks for sharing hete, it saves me heaps from getting bad experience. If you want to do waxing, try Brazil Do, I think this is the name. I used a voucher there, even though I had to wait for more than one hour due to some booking issue, but I'm glad I waited.

  12. I bought a voucher from Treatme and after reading these comments last night - I decided not to go and to forfeit my massage. At the last minute I changed my mind as I thought that I would always wonder if I had missed a good deal and if the other experiences were just bad luck!
When I arrived the man that I think you were talking about greeted me - he was perfectly pleasant and asked if I wanted a 60 minute massage - my voucher was for 45 mins and I reminded him of that just in case I didn't want it to drag on longer than it needed to. They offered me a mini treatment too, which was part of the deal - I chose a foot massage. Incidentally, my voucher had expired the day before but as they couldn't fit me in last week due to me only having limited times, they let me book a day later, which I think is excellent customer service. I really wasn't looking forward to my treatment due to the reviews I had read but my first impression was that I was pleasantly surprised by the place, however I wasn't expecting much!
I didn't find the place dirty but the towels were every so slightly damp - I took that as a good sign, that they had just been washed!!
The room was warm and I thought a nice touch was an electric blanket under the towels whilst having the massage. The massage therapist spoke limited English but did check that the pressure was ok. I asked for a medium firm massage, which she did do but this was applied everywhere, even in your more sensitive areas like your feet and toes - this really hurt. So much so that I sighed a sigh of relief when she had finished my one foot and grit my teeth ready for the next one! The massage was the worst massage I have ever had. I'm sure that she didn't have a professional qualification, it was by no means pleasant or relaxing and the massage was technically wrong as she spent a lot of the time massaging away from the heart down my legs and arms towards my hands and feet. I came out feeling disgusting. Greasy, sticky and dirty. The man asked if everything was ok, to which I replied "yes" to, but only because I didn't want to get the woman into trouble - who had her coat on and was out of the door before I was! I was prepared to give this place the benefit of the doubt but I would never go back and I recommend that you save your money. There are far nicer places for only a little more money. Try Euromassage on Willis street - fantastic treatments - I will not be straying from there again! What appeared to be a good deal was nothing but a waste of time, money and a huge disappointment!

  13. I have very bad experience at Evergreens spa(now called Medi Sap), sounds like same owner of Asiana day spa as I've been both places and saw the same therapist for my both appoinments. I bought the vouchers from Grabone and Treatme. The owner was talking lound to the therapist while I had my massage...damn what do you call this service? I will never go back..

  14. Hi had a massage there last weekend, bit worried after reading the comments above but it was fantastic. Probably one of the better massages I've had (and I've tried a few places in Wellington and elsewhere). The decor isn't up to much, mostly because it's a rabbit warren inside the building. The guy at reception was fairly business like rather than welcoming like you get at some spas but the place was clean and warm for a
July morning. The lady giving the massage was friendly checked pressure and if I was warm enough. Got full 45min I paid for (unlike some other places where time starts before you get undressed). I had a voucher and would definitely go back for a massage again.

  15. Was just about to buy a $99 spa package at Asiana, its a Treatme deal, and was wondering why only 4 people have bought from yesterday. Decided to check out the reviews and I'm glad I did! Thanks to you all, I've saved myself pain and money!

  16. Well that was a disappointment... Wish I had seen the reviews earlier. As a treat to a worn out mum my darling daughter bought us a Treat Me deal "1 hour & mini treatment" each after 40 minutes it was over. Thank goodness! My rating 2/10 and they only got that much because there was a massage bed and oil! The towels were damp, the room cold & w both were cold. They couldn't book us in at the same time so I went first and complained about being cold. So the manager yelled at the poor woman and it was only her first day. Once my daughter went in I told the manager that the massage was ok but I felt like I was just rubbed in oil not massaged and as for my mini facial - well I got my face washed! The manager offered to give my daughter longer but as a good mum I didn't wish that on her. Fortunately her experience ended 20 minutes short also & unfortunately my daughters experience was much the same as mine. What a shame & I was so looking forward to having a lovely treat. My advice - don't go there! Get a friend to cover you in oil and wash your face. Cheaper and less stressful!

  17. I went in for facial hair treatmeant... my poor mum spent so much money and it didn't work. They were rude re a cancel and my mum was sick at the time

Its a year on and I'm going to now fight for my mothers money back as I still have facial hair.

I'm guttered. At the end of the day they should piss of to there own country and treat there own the same only!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. I think someone should report these guys to department of labour or immigration because it doesn't sound like the workers are treated well. If you want affordable and effective laser hair removal, Courtenay Clinic is the best.

  19. Wow! Thanks very much for posting everyone - you've just saved me $200 on IPL treatment vouchers!!

  20. I was about to buy a Cavi Lipo voucher from these guys via DailyDo and decided to do some research first. Cavi Lipo users need to be trained and adhere to the King protocols (a set of guidelines for properly and effectively using the machine developed by Stephanie King who developed the machine) which give far better results. Apparently many spas use them as plug and go devices.

So I rang to ask if staff had been trained, the receptionist just said the equipment was easy to use and there were no side-effects. She did not know anything about the King protocols so put me onto her manager. He also knew nothing of the protocols at all! He went so far as getting the SUPPLIER to contact me. wtf? I don't care about the supplier, I want to be sure that the spa knows what they're doing.

Now I've read these reviews and am quite reluctant to go ahead with purchasing the voucher.

  23. This mirrors just what we went through . Dreadful experience . Bought a deal and during our massage the large man (boss) yelled at the staff so we could not relax, tried to cancel my booking as he had the money and a fully paying customer arrived so he tried to do her treatment instead ! The place was filthy and the towels stunk . The staff let it slip he mistreated them and they were all leaving . This place is a con and a money spinner for him with no regard for customers !!

  24. I don't understand why this place is still in business! Had a HORRIBLE experience there two years ago at the start of 2011. The large man at the reception (who is the owner) was incredibly rude to me and kept trying to get me to pay in cash after my horrid steam, scrub and massage. The place itself seemed very unhygienic. The service from the staff was terrible. I can't believe people still buy the discounted vouchers for this place!! Would recommend anyone who is thinking of going here or going to Wellington Medispa (also owned by the guy who owns Asiana Day Spa) to avoid both places like the plague!!! Both places need to be shut down - the greedy guy who runs both of these places knows NOTHING about running an ethical, customer-friendly business.

  27. looks like the are trading under a different name now, evergreens, but service is still the same! Here is my story:

I should've been put off when I phoned them and had the misforunte of speaking to a very rude lady. As it would happen I had the 'pleasure' of meeting this lady about 25minutes after my appointment was scheduled to start when I was still sitting in the untidy waiting room. Now to rewind a little, I had a call about 50minutes before my appointment was schedule to see if I wanted to push my appointment to another time or day. I replied that it would be inconvenient as I had already arranged care for me daughter. The man replied that I could keep my 10am appointment. I asked him if he was sure as I was about to get in the car, and there was no point if they couldn't accomodate me. He replied that it was fine. When I arrived at 10am there was no one at reception. 5minutes are so later, a man (sloth was apt description) arrived and demanded my voucher, no greeting. I filled in the form and waited. 10 minutes after my appointment was due to start the man advised that 'she won't be long, I think she is just grabbing a coffee' and that they had double booked me. Then he stood outside and proceeded to scream down the phone at someone, who kept hanging up on him. 25minutes after my appointment was due to have started and angry looking women stormed into the waiting room (with a coffee) and yelled at me asking why I had come, and bellowed that her husband had told me that their staff were sick and that I shouldn't have come but allegedly I insisted on coming anyway. I, in a state of shock, stood up and said (superisingly calmly!) that I thought they way she was speaking to me was incredibly rude and I would not feel comfortable having her massage me and walked out. The most appalling customer service i have ever been privvy too. I don't know how they can run a business.

  29. I had the same experience as a lot of people here; I bought an IPL voucher off GrabOne at 'Supreme Medi Spa' and when I called the woman on the other end sounded like I'd just ruined her day by daring to interrupt her. I asked for a consultation to discuss the treatment, which seemed to confuse her and she ended up booking me in for an hours treatment anyway.

When I got to the address - which was a business called "Asiana" - I was told this wasn't the right place and was sent next door. They sent me back and after much confusion from the reception staff (and asking me what the voucher was) I finally filled in a bunch of forms and instead of having the procedure, costs, etc discussed in private, was barked information at standing in the middle of reception with another customer in the room.

Finally I asked to be booked in, and they then said "we don't do that here, you have to go to this place" - Evergreens, formerly Wellington Medi Spa. Suspicions now aroused, I did what I should have done in the first place and Googled them - and found out they're pretty much the same company, owned by the same guy, all have terrible reviews, and all change their name every year or so.

Based on these reviews and others, I've decided to take the $200 hit and chalk it up to "learn to google first" - I'm not sure I want any of these people anywhere near my face with a laser.

    ReplyDelete
  30. It's so funny reading these reviews because everything mentioned on here is so TRUE! The company has been operating for 5-6 years under different names like Evergreens, Wellington Medi Spa, Asiana and Supreme Medi Spa. Changing a company name or establishing a new company name every year to me sounds pretty dodgy. The company is owned by two owners Helen and the Big Guy which are generally quite rude and pushy. The only reason I still occasionally go to this place is due to their cheap waxing; however in order to get cheap waxing done you generally have to pay cash. I'm pretty sure these guys don't recognise this income to the IRD lol.

Anyways, if you are deciding to go to this place then I suggest you only go for waxing or massages. Please don't go for a laser treatment or any type of facial treatment because none of their staff members are trained nor know how to use the equipment properly.

If you are looking to get laser hair removal then please try IPL solutions. I brought a grabone voucher a couple of months ago for laser hair removal by IPL solutions and I can say my hair on my arms have truly reduced after only 4 treatments! All the employees are also professional trained too!

If you are looking to get facials done then try Casi Clinic (perfect for facial hair removal) or East Day Spas. I know they're a little more expensive but it's your face you're dealing with lol I personally would pay extra $$ for a proper facial treatment.

I hope this has helped :)

  31. I purchased a voucher through GrabOne for Massage at Asiana Day Spa for $99.00 before reading the reviews.

I trusted GrabOne to have reputable companies on their voucher deals.

When I phoned to book the person on reception was unhelpful.
After re-reading the reviews the night before going I decided that it was better to write-off the $99 dollars to experience than to risk the unhygienic conditions and bad service.
I contacted GrabOne and they said “We use feedback of this nature to help determine whether or not we run any future deals for a product or with a merchant. The information you've provided will be passed onto our rep for this business so they can take it into consideration”
It will be interesting to see if GrabOne offer any more vouchers in the future for Asiana Day Spa.

    GrabOne has lost a customer

  32. I went to evergreens today. I have a massage, facial and Vichy shower. I would don't say its the best massage I ever had but certainly a good massage, The facial is just average. The Vichy shower was very nice. The therapist was very respectful and professional. I would go back again. I saw the big fat guy everyone talking about here. He looks angry but it could be just the way ppl sometimes look like.

  33. I do not think the reviews above are entirely fair. I have been to both (Evergreen) Medi Spa and Asiana a number of times each. They are both similar to what you would get in Thailand or Bali. Both places have a genuine Asian feel. The massages are brilliant. If you just want a gentle oil rub down and don't appreciate Balinese or Thai style massages with pressure at therapeutic level; don't go. If you want to pay Kiwi prices to enjoy a more glossy, up-market ambience; don’t go.
Bali and Thailand have massage as an intrinsic part of their cultures and people learn how to give a good massage on that basis. It’s not fair to say they are not trained – some may have formal training but even if they haven’t there seems to me to be a high level of knowledge and skill gained informally.
I did have one experience where I was kept waiting at Medi-Spa due to over booking but I have had similar experiences at other places. Such things do happen.
I spoke to the Big Guy about it at the time. He did his best to get someone up from Asiana as soon as possible. In any event I think he may have sorted the issue out now. I went for a massage and pedicure at Asiana last night. I arrived slightly early and was taken straight away. The therapist was charming, friendly and very skilled. The massage was brilliant and the pedicure was carefully done. I would recommend either place to anyone wanting an excellent Asian style massage, in pleasant surroundings, at a good price.

  34. Interesting how every 'good' review of Asiana Day Spa or Evergreens/Medi Spa always makes a point about the negative things, but there's always an excuse for it. I'm always very suspicious of these good reviews. Some are blatantly obvious that it's the owner writing the reviews, or someone the owner has requested to do them. After having a bad experience at Asiana Day Spa a couple of years ago, I will always avoid these so-called 'day spas'. I am genuinely shocked these places are still in business.

  35. I purchased a grabone voucher for a scalp massage and facial. I informed the lady that I have very sensitive acne prone skin and that I only wanted a light massage. Well I cam out with a headache as my scalp massage was far from relaxing. And the facial burned my skin so bad as my face was red and tender for hours afterwards. Also one my treatments had finished the lady left and I had to find my way back down the maze of stairs, only to be confronted by a lady at the counter who commented on 'How bad my skin was' and pursued to try and get me to buy this $200 facial set. Worst service and experience I've ever had, opposite of Relaxing!!!

  36. Thanks very much to everyone's reviews on here, was just about to purchase $5000 worth of IPL treatment for $499 on GrabOne. Thought I would check the discussions first and someone was asking if Supreme Medi Spa was associated with Evergreens or Asiana. As I would have had to travel out of town 2 hrs each way I really appreciate all the money, time and disappointment you have all saved me! Will be sticking to where I know is good locally and remembering what looks too good to be true, probably is.

  40. I had the worst experience at Asiana Day Spa - do not go to this place, extremely rude and charged the person who I gave the gift to as they made an error with the voucher. I asked for a refund since we had paid twice, and they said they couldnt process the refund with the machine and I would have to wait for a bank refund instead that would take 3 days. I do not know how this place manages to stay a float... its a shocker!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I also had a terrible experience at what was then called Evergreens. Filthy place, shocking customer service, after waiting a half hour, I was led out to a back room that looked more like a store room, the lady was extremely rude, commented on my stretch marks "you must have had big baby! Boy?" To which I replied girl, and she said, "oh well you might be lucky and get boy next time!" Wax was almost as painful as childbirth and very unhygienic. I actually cried when I left. Avoid this disgusting place at all costs. Shame on all the deal sites that still provide vouchers for this hell hole, and yet, don't provide any assistance when things go horribly wrong!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh no, about to go there and found this when I was looking for the address. I hope they have improved!

    ReplyDelete
  43. NEVER EVER GO HERE!!! I bought a voucher for IPL and had never had the treatment done previously so didn't know what to expect prior to my experience with Asiana.
As soon as I entered Asiana the first thing you see is a fat sluggish man who takes up nearly the whole couch in the waiting area so there's no room to sit. He also interrupted my conversation with the receptionist when we were having a discussion about my treatment and implied that I needed to use the majority of my $1000 voucher in the one session and made me feel pressured and confused cause the terms of the voucher never stipulated that you had to.

My appointment was for 2.45pm but I didn't get taken into one of the rooms until 3pm, where I was left waiting for another 15 minutes without any service and then a woman came in and told me "sorry, they had forgotten about me". Throughout my session she was very pushy and kept trying to persuade me to get other treatments even when I advised her I wasn't interested. She went on to ask me personal questions that I didn't wish to discuss which I felt was really rude and unprofessional.

The treatment itself has had good results so far, however, for a beauty salon, there was nothing elegant about my experience. The place was very unhygienic and the service was appalling, I left feeling unsatisfied and I definitely WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Asiana or evergreen day spas. I can't believe after reading all the negative reviews on here that the daily deal websites still promote these two businesses in the first place?!

  44. I had a horrible experience at Asiania spa. I had a manicure voucher and had to wait a while too. That same man also abused the receptionist after I said I didn't feel I should pay the extra for french tips because of the wait but I did because the girls did a great job. The guy went and said something to the nail girl and she ended up grabbing her bag a d jumped in the elevator with me to get out. Unfortunately the man made it in too and cornered her and was yelling abuse at her. I stepped between them and told him to back off as she was visibly upset. I told him to stop intimidating her. He was very apologetic to me but once all out of the elevator he went off down the road continuing his abuse at her. I was in shock that it happened and because it was obvious he was the owner I knew complaining direct wouldn't go far. I won't be back which is sad for his staff as they do a great job.

  46. I would like to express my disappointment with the service I received on the 5th August.
I came for another laser treatment appointment and was annoyed that, like last time, I had to wait for almost half an hour after the time of my appointment. No one told me that things were running late and I felt neglected sitting for so long without being consulted. When the appointment finally started I was shocked to find that the service provider told me I had missed an appointment and that I would loss a session. She was very uncooperative and did not listen at all when I tried to discuss what had happened. I had never been informed that I was booked in for another appointment, I had never agreed to booking another appointment and I had not been informed that I had missed one. I found the service provider to become very unpleasant very quickly. During the appointment she was very rude, she was rough and did not take her time at all. As a result I suffered burns and major discomfort that I have never experienced before despite having had half a dozen treatments with various providers and one with the same service provider before. I was emotionally and physically damaged from this service and experienced very painful side effects for almost a week after the service.

  47. Well I've just saved myself $200 on facial rejuvenation. Thank goodness I searched for reviews first and now realise I have already been there for a gel polish earlier in the year. What a hideous place. I too encountered the filthy man at the counter looking through the appointment book in a confused way. Hardly spoke to me and just stared. Went through to the treatment room, which was an all in one - table for nails, table for massages a counter with all sorts on it. Throughout my treatment the girl sighed and huffed about the man - he also kept walking through the treatment room and shuffling things about while I was having my nails done - eww. Horrible experience and left feeling dirty - nails chipped within a day, though I definitely wasn't going back to have them repaired. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING!!!

  48. Well my wife & I just had a Couples massage there having purchased the voucher of Grab One for $95 which was about to expire. I thought the massage was excellent, took the full hour, massaged every part of the body they should & came out feeling good & rejuvenated. The ladies seemed to know exactly what they were doing, the place was warm & the towels dry & clean. Maybe first thing Saturday morning is the key.
That said, I had my eye-brows trimmed about 6 weeks ago & the lady was useless & rude. If I hadn't protested & insisted she'd have only used scissors & a drop of wax. I could have done that myself. She eventually did what I requested & at the end just up & walked out. Quite strange.

  49. I just had an extremely satisfying and pleasant experience at Asiana, with a Balinese masseuse who was both friendly and professional, no sign of grubbiness or grouchiness and I am inclined to re-visit. Thank you.!

  50. I bought a voucher for three facial treatments at Asiana a couple of years ago. Microdermabrasion, laser rejuvenation and facial peel. I went twice. Both times the lady criticised my skin, suggested I get a tiny mole I've had since birth removed, and tried to sell me very expensive products. For the laser treatment she placed only a cotton wool pad over each of my eyes and the light from the laser was so bright I was frightened I would have permanent damage to my vision. I was too scared to go back for my third session.

She also told me she worked 18 hour days.

Like others say, the place is a rabbit warren and none too clean.

When I shared my experience with a colleague, she told me she had been for a Brazilian and the wax had already been used and had another client's pubic hair in it.

  51. I went to Evergreens for a gel manicure and pedicure after seeing a daily deal on Yazoom. The staff weren't that bad and I am happy enough with the treatments but I will never go back there. The room I had my nails done in was small and crammed with equipment. It was also really dirty. There was a horrible dirty rubbish bin in the room and extension cords everywhere for the UV lamps. I would not recommend this place and wish I had done some research prior to going there!

  52. Thank goodness I decided to see the address of this business before buying a deal on Treatme, looks like not only did I save myself money but also stress

  53. thanks for all your comments. After reading these i will never buy a voucher for that place

  54. Sadly, I did get the treatme voucher and just returned from the most painful leg wax I have ever had, with red inflamed legs and patches of wax still attached. when I told her it was hurting in a way it shouldnt she shrugged and kept going. I complained and asked to speak to the manager who bascially told me (on the phone no less) that everyone is differnet, the hair is gone and when I pushed her about hte quality of the service she said she cant please everyone and hung up on me!

  55. Thanks for this, wow this thread has been going a while and the place still sounds awful. Today they have another grab one deal up?????!!!!!!

  56. The most disgusting place i have ever encountered and worse i got caught a second time with a grab one deal at their other property medi spa, in woodward st .they are every day on grab one ,daily do touting for business .It just shows they are not getting return customers and these site should realise there is a problem and limit there use .It makes it hard for other new good beauty spa to get the response they should as like myself others must be weary of purchasing more of these deals. These businesses should be regulated as the operators not trained properly .

  57. Totally agree. Asiana is gross, even if the decorum is nice. They don't change the towels between IPL. The technician showed no evidence of washing/having washed her hands. And they appear to use the same popsicle stick thingy over and over again for putting the ultrasound gel (sorry ... don't know the technical term) on peoples' parts. Never again.

  61. What can I say about Evergreen Day Spa. I went there for a skin treatment. Their Microdermabrasion treatment was just awesome. This treatment basically combines with skin exfoliation . They used high quality diamond head in it. This treatment cleared out my dead skin cells, relieves congestion in the skin and also reduced the pore size. My skin looked wow! Thanks Evergreen Spa

  62. ^^ I am sooooo sick of the owner/people who represent Evergreens/Medi/Asiana/Royal spa (etc, I just can't keep up) leaving blatantly fake positive reviews for their repulsive day spas. I cannot believe they are still in business! Worst day spa experience of my life. Horrible, horrible place and the owner is awful.

  63. Thank god i saw these reviews before i brought grabone vouchers. shame on you grabone for selling such crap over and over again.

  64. Is there no such thing as a mandatory health and safely inspection for these places? I think we should all sign a petition for one if not!

  65. I had been to asiana day spa couple days ago by using a Grabone voucher. I am so surprised that the massage is very very good!! That was just I needed!!! I will recommend to all my friends. I only trust what I experienced even I read above posts before I when to that spa.

  66. I bought a voucher too from Group-on I think for a brazillian wax and got mucked around too - had to wait and the loud man was there shouting at the two staff at the desk. They were mucking around trying to re-book a client on the phone. It was a shambles and I was still getting over the shock of why this big, loud man was at a women's day spa..

So I l wasn't surprised and actually laughed when reading that this is actually the norm and that this place is still in business.

What no-one else seems to have experienced though is what happened to me while I was having the brazillian.

I was taken through what looked like two connecting nail salons to the back where there seems to be what is best-described as a communal shower in the hallway. We passed this open shower (no-one using it thankfully) and then went up the stairs and I got taken into a room towards the back of the building. I think there were painters in the room next door painting.

I was feeling very uncomfortable at this stage and wondering whether I should just leave.I didn't and the lady asked me to disrobe and left while I did that.

But it was what she said to me as I was having my treatment that really freaked me out:

The lady told me I was a very good-looking woman (she wasn't looking at my face) and asked me if I had enough money and when I said I did, she said that if that changed or if I wanted to earn extra, I should come back and see her as she had work for me that would earn me a lot....

  67. Went to 'Evergreens' for a wax with a voucher and it was an AWFUL experience. The most disturbing aspect is how unclean it is. They are also VERY disorganised at reception and make you feel as though you just being there with a booked appointment is an inconvenience to them. They also offered me a 'special deal' for waxing if I returned, but repeatedly stipulated that this deal was only available if one pays in cash...if that is not dodgy, then I do not know what it. Do not waste your money.

  68. Was about to book myself in for a brazilian and buy a voucher off treatme, thank gawd I found this site, no thanks!!!!!!!!!! Will pay the extra and go to wax n laser (my usual) or east day spa.

  69. My friend got me and her a voucher for a spray tan from this place as we had an event coming up.

My friend is much darker complexion than me went first. She came out crazy dark. So when I went in I was trying to ask the lady what colour she was putting on me, she held the bottle up. I asked her what colour my friend had and she pointed to the same colour. I am super pale and just wanted a gentle tan. I managed to talk the lady into changing however this was hard as her English wasn't so good.

Then the lady said she will do from my shoulders down. I explained to her I was wearing a strapless dress - so wouldn't that look odd as my face / neck wouldn't match. She didn't seem to understand what I was saying.

At this very point my gut reaction was to leave. Apologies to my friend that I had wasted her gift. But I didn't )silly me ehh)

They got me to get naked with a paper G (normal) but in an old Sauna I couldn't even stand or move in. Then in all my glory with my hands in the air the lady spraying me someone rolls open the door and yells at her something (another language) at the same time this happened another customer was being taken to another room and saw me, and a person waiting to pay for a service seens me (my room was the very first one) I was full frontal naked other than the tiny bit of paper - that doesn't cover much. This happened two more times and at one point my friend saw me also.

I left the place feeling awful and violated. I felt exposed and have never forgotten the experience. I feel silly for not having a voice and just leaving but I was scared and nervous by then.

The tan was orangey and the joke of the office was i looked like a lepricorn with skin diesese. It was patcy and gross.

When I went and complained to the owner he said it was my fault as i was "Big Girl" so they don't need to refund. I have had tans before and my size has never been an issue, also the places I was having issues was flat skin i.e upper chest, upper outer arms, wrists.

I would never ever recommend these people and from reading the reviews Its gone on for years. Ever time i see these deals on grabone or treat me I cringe as it brings back my experience.

    3. Hi I also purchased a IPL voucher of Supreme Medi Spa on Treatme. Silly me, I wish I read this comments before I purchased it. The staff at Supreme Medi Spa is very unprofessional. I went in the room, didn't see the staff change the towel, and she performed the IPL hair removed without putting on gloves. It was my first IPL hair removal session on underarms. I thought the staff would do a patch test on me and explain to me the pain level. She showed no 'sympathy' and said that 'you sweat a lot', I replied because it hurts. I regret that I have purchased the voucher. Definitely not a place to recommend.

  71. Wow what shocking reviews. I was booked in tomorrow morning for a consultation, thank goodness I saw these. Seriously can't believe they are still in business, probably a last ditch effort for customers with all the "too good to be true" vouchers from these amateurs.

  72. I went for a massage and found it a truly unpleasant experience. The staff were loud, the seating area was dirty, the woman interrupted my massage three times to try hard to sell me products I didn't want and the man behind the reception desk taking my money was really, really unfriendly and rude. I can't believe they are still operating.

  73. Oh no I have just bought a Treat me voucher for cavi-lipo sessions. Why did I not read the reviews first. I have only had great experiences at other spas but these reviews say it all. The bigger question is why are Treat me and Grab One allowing their promotions. Are we who review contacting them? I will take the chance with my treatment but if it's a shocker I will be taking it up with Treat me. After all it's meant to be a TREAT!
